Our website crawler
If you found DeskTeamScout in your server logs, here's what it is, and how to opt out.
What it does
DeskTeam helps local service businesses answer every call and lead. DeskTeamScout visits the public websites of local businesses to see how customers can reach them. For example, it checks whether a site offers online booking, a chat window or a contact form. We use what it finds to prepare demos and audits for businesses we think we can help.
When we build a free demo receptionist for a business, it reads up to 50 public pages of that business's site to learn its services.
How it behaves
- It identifies itself as
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; DeskTeamScout/0.1; +https://deskteamai.com/scout). - It follows your
robots.txt. - It reads a small number of public pages, never logs in, and never submits forms.
- It only visits public business websites, and only keeps business information they publish: services, how customers can book, and contact details such as a published email address.
How to opt out
